Simple Summer Delights

I always say it’s the simple things that make life so great and summer offers so many great simple things and moments. I have been cooking a lot these last few weekends, contributing at friends homes, or shopping in the green market  and cooking at home.  Shared meals are always a great way to discover a new dish or a new wine like Channing Daughters Rose. Shopping the greenmarket is a great visual experience especially if you get there early before the crowds arrive. It gives you  great visual moments from shopping the market, to unpacking your finds, cooking them, the  final results and even opening the refrigerator and seeing  something like that gorgeous bushy basil next to your rose chilling ….and then the anticipation of dinner (s) to come…grilled figs, fresh greens with nasturtiums, fresh fish with fresh herbs……!!!! I even love buying flowers in the market.
